Immigration Minister Mark Harper propose for new increased fee for visa applicant from abroad and applications made in the UK. The proposal will be present to parliament by 14 March and will be affect from 6 April 2013.
These increasing are mostly to maintain inflation and ensure that the UK continues to welcome the brightest and the best. The immigration ministry wants to ensure those who use and benefit from the immigration system should contribute more than the UK taxpayer.
The proposed fee increases are taking place against difficult financial context for the UKBA and the government as a whole. These increase fees will allow UKBA to improve their customer service and ensured a high quality immigration service at a challenging time for public finances across the UK.
